Father Dave's
recommended resources
for Internet Marketers

The software and services that you see recommened below fall
into three categories:

  1. Things that I currenlty use and can recommend
  2. Things that I used to use and can still recommend
  3. Things I would be using if I had come across them earlier

I've divided my recommended resources into 5 sections, roughly following the logical steps you will need to take to become a succesful Internet Marketer:

Step 1: Find a product to sell
Most Internet Marketers do not get started by selling their own products. Indeed, it would be possible to make a living on the Internet without ever having a product or a website! It's called 'Affiliate Marketing'.

Yes, it's me!

Fightshop.biz Affiliate Program

Why go to all the trouble of creating your own products when you can market somebody else's products and earn an income from the affiliate commision?

The Fightshop.biz affiliate programs offers a 50% affiliate payment on all sucessful referals, and membership is completely free of charge. To find out more about the program, click here. To join up now, click here.

Clickbank

Clickbank

The other great place to go when you're looking for affilaite programs to promote is Clickbank.

It's the biggest and the best affilaite network on the Internet. And they pay you like clockwork every two weeks, regardless of where in the world you live.

There really are no alternatives worth considering in my view. Click here.

Make your own software

Make your own software

And if you are really determined to do it yourself', Mike Chen's new 'Make Your Own Software seems to be the easiest way to do it, for non-programers.

I have never used this software (for time as well as money reasons), but Russell swears that he produced his salesletterinabox program after one all-nighter with this beast! Definately worth a look. Click here.

2: Find places to sell it
Opportunities to advertise are everywhere on the Net, but most will cost you big bucks. Here's a few of my personal favourites, that should appeal to those of you who, like me, are on a limited budget.

 Free Viral Adds

Free Viral Adds

This one will cost you nothing, apart from a bit of time. Follow the links and read each of the adds. This entitles you to then place your own add, and so the process continues.

If that doesn't make sense, click here and take a look. You'll work it out.

Traffic Swarm

Traffic Swarm

By far the best of the start page exchanges. Membership is completely free and you earn 'credits' every time you click on an add. You exchange your credits for displays of your own adds.

And if you want to buy extra credits at the fraction of the normal cost, check out this site, run by Patrick, a friend of mine. Tell him that Father Dave sent you, and you'll even score a few extra credits.

Master Submitter

Mastersubmitter

Safelists and FFA pages are the most traditional form of free advertising on the NET, but if you're going to use them, you need to hit them hard and often.

Master submitter will do this for you for a small monthly fee. They also have a good affiliate program, which means that their service will pay for itself pretty quickly if you recommend it. Click here to check it out.

 Get Paid to Advertise!

SFI Adds

Here's a rather unique concept, where they actually pay you to advertise! The only complication is that you've got to have an SFI account, which is similar to Paypal, but easier to set up and MLM friendly (if that's your thing).

You can link your SFI account to Paypal (that's what I do). Click here to check out the get-paid-to-advertise concept. Click here to set up an SFI account.

 Get Paid to Advertise!

Knockout Autosurf

Never underestimate the effectiveness of startpage exchanges, even autosurfs! While the whole process is set up to work automatically, you'd be surprised how much traffic you'll actually receive through this program.

It's completely free, though the paid upgrade options are certainly worth a look. Click here.

3: Build a mailing list
'The money is in the list' - that's the mantra of modern Marketing Gurus.
Even if your ultimate goal is not simply making money, it's true that you can't achive much on the Net without your own list. Here are the resources I use.

Simpler Leads

I didn't even know that a service like this existed until a little while ago - a service that simply gives away leads! No cost, never, ever!

If you want 300 or 3,000 leads per day, you can pay for them, but you can have 30 free leads per day, every day, no questions asked, for as long as you like! Click here to set up your free account.

 Kiosk web systems

Kiosk

Kiosk is basically a web-hosting company, but in their 'silver' and 'platinum' hosting packages, they give you your own FFA page, that should yield around 200 to 300 fresh leads per day!

These packages include autoresponders and other marketing tools, and there's a kick-butt affiliate system that will allow you to profit from your hosting package really quickly. Click here.

Listbuilder

If you can't bulid your list through regular means, the common shortcut nowadays is to simply buy a list. Listbuilder is an in-between solution.
Instead of buying the list, you buy the advertising to promote your list.

Listbuilder will give you as many subscribers as you desire, for only a few cents per subscriber! This really works, and thankfully you can limit your monthly spend. Click here to check it out.

Frank Baur

Add2it Pro

Add2it.com is a collection of mailing list and autoresponder scripts from another mate of mine, Frank Baur. When you're ready to have your own autoresponder on your own server, these scripts are second to none!

And let me tell you, once you're a customer of Frank's, he takes your problems and enquiries very seriously. That guy does constant live chat sessions to help you solve any issues, and never charges for his time!

Step 4: Build a website
I'm sure you can get along as an Internet Marketer without your own website.
You could even go some distance without having your own mailing list!
But why deny yourself, when the cost is so small and the potential so great?

Kiosk web systems

Kiosk

Kiosk that is my recommended web host for marketers. Why?

  1. Because they are cheap, starting at $5.95 per month
  2. Because most of their packages include quality marketing tools
  3. Because they have a kick-butt affiliate system, designed to cover the cost of your monthly hosting fee very quickly.

If you're looking for a host, you owe it to yourself to check them out: here.

Bleep, the 3rd-sphere mascot

Third Sphere

Third Sphere is sort of like Kiosk's big brother - bigger, stronger, and a little more costly - but it comes with an impressive variety of tools designed to put your Internet Marketing efforts into overdrive.

Tools include web design software, scripts, an ebook design centre, an inbulit traffic generation system, and more. Check it out by clicking here.

Hosting Shop

This is where the vast majority of my websites are hosted. They are economical, efficient and Australian.

Tell Jon that Father Dave sent you and ... well, I'm not sure what he'll come up with, but I can assure you he'll be friendly with you. :-) Click here.

Clickbank

Clickbank

And when you come to set up an eCommerce facility on your site, don't waste time and money like I did. Get it right the first time. Use Clickbank. Why?

  1. Because there are NO monthly fees.
  2. Because they have a built-in affiliate program
  3. Because they are big, robust and secure.

There really are no alternatives worth considering in my view. Click here.

Paypal

The only drawback with Clickbank is that you are restricted to selling electronic products (like software or ebooks).

If you want to sell T-Shirts or T-bones, you'll need to suplement your Clickbank facility with either Paypal or SFI pay. Why not both?

Step 5: Create an Ezine
The other vital tool in the Internet Marketer's arsenal - a quality ezine.
Producing your own ezine helps you build your list, helps to keep you in contact with your subscribers, and establishes your authority in your field.

How to write a Newsletter

If you're not feeling quite ready to start putting your ezine together, you may benefit greatly from the wisdom of Michael Green - the king of 'how to' books.

The 'How to write a Newsletter' kit contains articles, templates, and all the hand-holding you could ask for. Click here to check it out.

Ezine-Express

And if you want to go one step further with your ezine, and separate it from the pack, take a look at Ezine-Express - the world's leading direct-to-desktop ezine delivery system.

I know I'm biased towards this system, as I helped to create it, but if you're on my regular mailing list, you know that I use it every day.

Step the last: Track and Build
Once you've got all the pieces in place, test and track everything, and so continually improve your business. And continue to educate yourself too.
As Socrates said, 'He who has ceased to be a student has ceased to live.'

Adminder

Adminder is the ultimate tracking solution for any website. Adminder will:

• Show you how many visitors were generated by each of your ads.
• Reveal which ads generate the most visitors, subscribers, downloads, etc.
• Calculate cost-per-click, cost-per-sale, and click-to-sale ratios for each ad.

And that's just the beginning! Click here to check it out.

Cory Rudl course

In as much as I don't like to admit it, I owe a great deal to Cory Rudl. His Insider Secrets course was the first piece of literature I read on the subject
of Internet Marketing, and I still refer back to it.

The course is long and comprehensive enough to give anybody a solid grounding in Internet Marketing and comes in a series of ring-binders with CD's. You may need to beware of shipping and import costs. Click here.

Seize Your Potential

At a far lesser cost, and just as informative I think is Mike Gillespie's Seize Your Potential course.

This course does NOT come in ring binders, which may make it less attractive, but the content is first rate. The course comes as a series of talks given by Gillespie and a host of other top-notch online entrepeneurs, including Cory Rudl, who (ironically) you don't hear from in his own course! Click here.

The Business Professional

At a far less a cost again (potentially) is Terry Telford's excellent library of resources for online professionals.

The Business Professional is a membership site that will cost you $20 per month, and there is no minimum contract, so that you can leave any time you like. There's even a 7-day trial that will only cost you $1. Definately worth a look.

Marketing with Integrity

Just in case you somehow missed it, my own Marketing with Integrity eCourse is completely free and always will be.

I try to cover everything from safelists to autoresponders and back again, in a whiz-bang multimedia format that's designed to entertain and teach simultaneously. And you win a prize just for taking the course! Click here.

Inside Success Show

One of the most powerful sources of both information and inspiration that I've come across on the Net is Randy Gilbert's Inside Success Show. Randy tries to interview all the top experts in their fields and squeeze them for their tips and strategies for success. He has a terrific archive of interviews!

Click here to check out the Inside Success Show. Click here to listen to Randy's interview with me on the show.
